4.840 BORE SPACED | BBC | SPREAD-PORT

CFE 18-degree Nitrous Specials incorporate all the same great features as our standard 18-degree spreadport head with additional influences from our record-setting five-inch-bore-spaced promodified heads. Custom chamber design and valve locations enhance not only the performance of the head but also allow for a much-improved piston design for nitrous use. This head is available in both 4.840 and 4.900 bore spacing and will require a custom piston design specific to the CFE Nitrous Special. Competitive programs are available to support engine ranges from 598 c.i.d to 706 c.i.d. CFE also offers manifold-specific programming for either cast or fabricated intakes allowing for a completely custom racing head solution.

CFE Nitrous Specials can take advantage of most of your existing 18-degree Big Chief components such as head studs, gaskets, rocker arms, and valve covers.

Popular Applications Include: Dedicated nitrous engines campaigned successfully in Top Dragster, Top Sportsman, heads-up street car racing, Bonneville (land speed competition), and mud racing.

Cooling Provisions:The CFE 18 degree Big Chief head has cooling provisions on the intake flange. Coolant holes for a -16AN fitting can be added to the end of the casting upon request.

Minimum Bore:4.600″
Intake Manifold:Cast single dominator or tunnel ram manifolds are available for 9.800 or 10.200 deck heights.
Exhaust Lifters:Qty 8 @ on-center
Valve Cover:Requires a standard Big Chief valve cover and valve cover gasket.
